Aid Effectiveness: Putting the Millennium Declaration Principles Into Practice Action

The World For World Organization (WFWO) it was established to deliver effective contribution to achieve an impact against poverty and the Eigth Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). At United Nations Summit 2000, the largest gathering of world leaders in history adopted the UN Millennium Declaration, committing their nations to a new global partnership to reduce extreme poverty and setting out a series of time-bound targets, with a deadline of 2015. Its framework and strategy plan of the WFWO shares many principles with the Millennium Declaration including a strong focus on ownership, accountability and results.

The Millennium Declaration is an international agreement to improve the effectiveness of aid programs of actions based on principles of ownership, alignment, harmonization, managing for results and accountability of the WFWO and MDG’s objectives.

The WFWO is measuring progress against the Millennium Declaration to contribute to the implementation of the MDGs to be reached by 2015 targets. It is also critically learning from putting the principles into practice action trough public awareness and programs to support developing countries. The results after the evaluation review in the past years shown that the with its modest effort contribution strengths include a program-based approach focusing on MDGs objectives adopted by WFWO’s frameworks strategy plan.
