Volunteer Program Procedures (VPP)
Introduction
The WFWO Volunteer Program is designed to support the WFWO's
Human Resources capacity by providing opportunities for
individuals to contribute their services on a voluntary
basis to WFWO's activities or partners.
Individual selected for the program will be deployed in
areas according to their competencies and the needs of the
WFWO and its partners.
Volunteers are not considered members or team of WFWO.
They do not receive any kind of remuneration or financial
assistance and do not accrue benefits. Assignments under the
Volunteer Program are not designed to lead to a team
position within the Organization. Foremost is the personal
and professional satisfaction the assignment should bring to
you.
Eligibility
Candidates should preferably have an academic interest in
the mandate and subjects of the Organizations.
General requirements for engagement as a Volunteer:
- minimum 18 years of age
- citizenship upon to all countries
- appropriate residence or immigration status within
applicable regulations
- full command of one of the working languages of WFWO
(English, French, Spanish or Italian)
The members of the family of WFWO staff will not be
considered eligible for the Volunteer Program.
Applications
Applications will not be solicited by the Human Resources
Team, however, all applications must be referred to the
Human Resources Team for review.
Interested candidates should fill in the relevant
Application Form in which he/she will describe the
objectives, expected results of the voluntary work to be
performed and in what specialization.
The Application Form should be sent together with the WFWO
Personal History Form and forwarded electronically (in word
format) to: info@worldforworld.org
Terms of employment
WFWO will assist in obtaining the appropriate visas for the
Volunteer within the applicable regulations. He/she will be
responsible for arranging travel to region or program
selected. During their assignments, Volunteers may be
authorized to visit an WFWO program.
Costs of travel and accommodation are the entire
responsibility of the Volunteers.
Volunteer assignments do not exceed six months.
Volunteers must arrange for their own medical and travel (if
applicable) insurance coverage.
Volunteers will be requested to sign a statement accepting
the conditions therein and will be provided at the end of
the assignment with a certificate of appreciation.
Obligations
Volunteers must keep confidential any and all unpublished
information obtained during the course of their voluntary
work and must not publish any reports or papers based on
such information, except with the explicit authorization of
WFWO. Volunteers will be required to observe WFWO�s code of
conduct.
The WFWO Volunteer program is independent from other
volunteer programs.
